Effects of BAY on 10% FBS-stimulated VSMC numbers. At 10 μM, BAY significantly (p < 0.01) reduces cell numbers by ∼35% after 72 h compared with vehicle controls. No changes in cellular toxicity from BAY were observed using the neutral red assay (data not shown). Data are mean ± S.E.M. of three independent experiments (each n = 6). Student-Newman-Keuls method for multiple comparisons after one-way ANOVA was used. **, p < 0.01 compared with normalized vehicle controls.
