II, Cation-exchange perfusion chromatogram. Samples for electrophoresis were prepared as described in Methods. Fifteen and five micrograms were loaded onto the gel for total proteins and fractions, respectively. Approximately 33 mg of total protein was injected into the column, and 6.1 mg was recovered in the 200 mm NaCl fraction. This separation was repeated several times to obtain sufficient protein separation for further characterization.
