A, Root extract was incubated in the MCO system with or without EDTA for 1 and 2 h, and the samples were subjected to two-dimensional gel electrophoresis followed by immunodetection with anti-GS antibodies. The native GS polypeptides are labeled as β1, β2, and α1, and their modified versions are labeled as β1_ox, β2_ox, and α1_ox, respectively. B, The spots were all quantified using Intelligent Quantifier software and the ratios of the intensity of the oxidized to the corresponding nonoxidized forms were calculated and plotted on a graph.
