Note. BPD |FFM| denotes the increment of BPD over FFM traits and FFM |BPD| indicates the increment of FFM traits over BPD. In the rows, |FX| denotes the increment of BPD and FFM traits over baseline psychosocial functioning (FX); in the columns |FX| indicates the Beta weights for personality traits and BPD elements with FX controlled. Baseline psychosocial functioning was a significant (p < .01) predictor in every model (2-year Beta = .41, 4 = .36, 6 = .37, 8 = .36, 10 = .33).
