Induction of the I_ATP currents by: dialysis of intracellular ATP (n = 8); mitochondria poisoning with DNP (n = 12); or application of the selective agonist Cromakalim (n = 9). Only in the latter case do mdx cardiomyocytes show an I_ATP density similar to wt. I_ATP in mdx cardiomyocytes is significantly different (* p<0.05) than that induced by ATP dialysis or DNP treatment.
