Isometric force was determined at different [Ca2+] before (a) and after (b) treatment with PP2AC in NF (6 NF, 14 cells) and failing (ICM, 6 patients, 14 cells; DCM, 6 patients, 13 cells) myocytes. Force at submaximal [Ca2+] was normalized to the force at saturating [Ca2+] (pCa = 4.5). PP2AC treatment increased Ca2+-sensitivity only in NF cardiomyocytes (c). Basal Ca2+-sensitivity was higher in ICM compared to NF. **P < 0.01 before vs. after PP2A treatment (Repeated measures Two-Way ANOVA, n = 6); #P < 0.05 vs. NF (Two-Way ANOVA (Source of Variation: patient) NS, One-way ANOVA (Ca2+-sensitivity NF, ICM, DCM before PP2A) P = 0.06, Bonferroni’s Multiple comparison test NF vs ICM P < 0.05, n = 6)
