Quantitative PCR was performed on reverse-transcribed cDNA from S. mansoni adult males, females and cercariae. The data were normalized to S. mansoni GAPDH, which was used as an internal housekeeping gene. Differences in expression were calculated according to the comparative ΔΔCT method [34]. The results are shown as fold-change in S. mansoni SmGBP expression relative to cercariae. Data are the means and SEM of seven independent experiments, each in duplicate.
