As described in methods, equal numbers of human gingival fibroblasts (HGF) and human dermal fibroblasts (HDF) of equal passage were plated onto individual wells of 96 well plates that had been pre-coated with the ECM components fibronectin or type I collagen, as indicated. Unbound cells were removed by washing, an adherent cells at the times indicated were detected. Adhesion of HDF to ECM at 90 minutes was taken to represent 100% adhesion.
