BTE attenuates DSS-induced experimental colitis as measured by histologic score. (A) The proximal, distal colon and cecum of DSS-exposed mice were evaluated and coded sections were scored using a validated scoring system using a scale of 0 to 40 (*p < 0.05). Values are mean ± SD; n = 6 in each group. Histological evaluation of the colon of BTE-fed, DSS-exposed mice indicated a significant decrease in colon inflammation compared to control diet-fed, DSS-exposed mice (p < 0.05).
