Effect of NADH and NADPH concentration upon (E)-2,3 eicosenoyl-CoA elongation. The 9 μm (E)-2,3 C20:1-CoA was incubated at 30°C for 60 min in the presence of 60 μg of protein and of NADPH (□) or NADH (•) at different concentrations: 1 mm MgCl₂, 2 mm DTT, 0.15 mm Triton X-100, and 9 μm [2-¹⁴C]malonyl-CoA in 0.08 m Hepes buffer, pH 6.8. The reaction was stopped after different incubation times as indicated in Methods.
