High-magnification comparison of the control and RPE65 donor retina showed that cone arrestin was distributed along the entire plasma membrane of this cone type, from the tip of the outer segment to the synaptic base in the control retina (A). Cones were present in the macula of the RPE65 donor, but synapses were not visualized (B).
