OFQ/N induces transcriptional activation of an NFκB reporter gene. SH-SY5Y cells were transfected as described in methods. Luminescence measured from NFκB/Firefly Luciferase activity was normalized to internal control thymidine kinase/Renilla Luciferase activity and expressed as fold over basal (basal values=0.03±0.01). TNFα, a robust activator of NFκB, served as the positive control. OFQ/N treatment increases transcriptional activity of NFκB reporter gene in a a time-dependent (*p<0.05, compared to basal) and b a concentration-dependent manner (logEC50=−8.2±0.5; *p<0.05, compared to 300 pM). Data expressed as mean ± SEM of three to eight experiments
