Dynamics of intracellular GB accumulation in salt-stressed R. sphaeroides wild-type 2.4.1 and mutants RWAE (proXWV) and RBCCT (betS). Strains were grown under anoxic phototrophic conditions in medium containing 1 mM GB. Salt stress was imposed by the addition of 3% NaCl at time zero to exponentially growing cells (OD600 of 0.4). Values are the averages of three biological replicates, and the error bars represent the standard deviations.
