Vision-dependent behavior is restored to Aipl1−/− mice exclusively by scAAV treatment. Mice were tested at P35 after AAV administration at P10 with the Morris water maze assay. The mean time of scAAV-treated mice was similar to wild-type Aipl1+/+ mice (P > 0.05), and both were significantly lower than untreated Aipl1−/− and ssAAV-treated mice (*P < 0.01 at group indicated comparisons, ANOVA with Tukey HSD). The mean time of ssAAV-treated mice was not significantly different from untreated Aipl1−/− mice (P > 0.05). Error bars, ±SEM.
