Slug expression results in increased motility of UM-SCC-38 cells. UM-SCC-38/neo and UM-SCC-38/slug cells were plated on top of a membrane possessing 8 mm pores. Non-migratory cells were removed 24 h later and cells on the bottom of the membrane were fixed, stained and counted. Slug-expressing cells were found to be significantly more migratory.
