Data are mean ± SD EMG burst characteristics of CT and TA muscles in modulated 50-kHz calls. The bursts from both muscles were out of phase. The time between a CT burst onset and a TA burst onset was measured (“TA follows CT”) in 3–7 bursts from each of 10 calls relative to the interburst interval duration. The interburst interval duration was also measured in 3–7 bursts from each of 10 calls.
