Southern analysis of clones hybridizing to a pah-specific probe. S. clavuligerus genomic DNA was digested with NcoI, and fragments of 4 to 5 kb were cloned into pUC120. Transformants were analyzed by colony hybridization with a pah-specific probe, and plasmids from hybridizing colonies were subjected to Southern analysis after NcoI digestion.
