Having clicked on all numbers in either ascending (numerical) or descending (reverse numerical) order (depending on the instruction presented to the participant on the screen before trial 1) the participant had to click on the Next button to move on to the next trial (in this case, letters). Following trial 4 a new instruction would be shown on the screen (to complete the task in the opposite order to the one on trial 1-4) and subsequently trials 5-8 would be shown.
