A) HeLa cells were incubated with 8 (1, 2, or 5 μM) for 1 h and viewed by confocal microscopy. The ATD is seen in endocytic vesicles (punctate fluorescence) as well as in the cytoplasm (diffuse fluorescence). B) Cells were treated with 8 (5 μM) for varying amounts of time. The ATD is present faintly in vesicles and the cytoplasm after incubation times as brief as 5 min; fluorescence increases in both locations over time. Bar = 25 μm.
