Tek-cre mice (n = 3; A) or Tie2-cre (n = 4; B) were infected i.v. with 8×105 PFU MCMV-flox and received a heart transplant derived from non-infected C57BL/6 mice 20 hours (A) or three days (B) later. Four days after transplantation blood was taken and organs were collected from recipients and analyzed. Data are depicted as described in Fig. 1A. In (A), recipient organs were either not perfused (upper panel, n = 3) or were perfused (lower panel, n = 3) before collecting organs. Data of non-perfused and perfused groups were obtained in different experiments.
