(1) The Instron Model #5569 (left) applied a compressive load at a constant rate up to 250N. (2) In response to the applied compressive load, the scaffold generated tensile loads. (3) The tensile loads were transferred through the braided steel cable and (4) measured at the load cell of the Instron Model #5542 (right). Compressive and tensile loads were recorded by the load cells every 0.1 seconds.
