Western blots for assessment of the purity of chromoplasts. Total proteins prepared from whole fruits (as control) or purified chromoplasts were subject to gel blotting using antibodies against the plastidial large Rubisco subunit (RbcL), mitochondrial voltage-dependent anion-selective channel protein 1 (VDAC1), cytosolic UGPase, and vacuolar ATPase.
