Cd tolerance of wild-type and AtPCSox seedlings grown in the presence of different concentrations of GSH. Wild-type, AtPCSox-1, AtPCSox-3, AtPCSox-4, and AtPCSox-5 seedlings were incubated on medium containing 15 μM CdSO₄ in the presence of 0, 100 or 250 μM GSH (A) or containing 90 μM CdSO₄ in the presence of 0, 100 or 250 μM GSH (B). Root length (A) and fresh weight (B) were measured after 9 d. (C) Wild-type seedlings at 0 μM CdSO₄, 0 μM GSH (left), 0 CdSO₄, 250 μM GSH (right). Wild-type seedlings show root growth inhibition and a slight increase in the growth of the aerial part, at 250 μM GSH. Fresh weight values correspond to means ±SE (n=6).
