Mean relative concentrations (based on Ca) of Zn, Mg, P, S, Cl, and K in different types of cells of mature leaves and young leaves of T. caerulescens. Plants were grown on 4000 μg Zn g−1 for 6 weeks. Frozen, hydrated leaf tissues were prepared for EDXMA spectrum analysis on central rectangles of randomly selected cells. Relative concentrations were calculated using the following formula:

The slopes were obtained from the multi-element calibrations. Bars represent ses (n = 4–7).
