Synthesis of amine functionalized silica nanoparticles via a reverse microemulsion. Step 1 involves micelle formation. Step 2 is the addition of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) to the emulsion to form monodisperse “seed” particles. Lastly, step 3 is the subsequent addition of TEOS and AHAP that co condense to form the AHAP/TEOS silica nanoparticles.
