Shown are the dimensions in mm2 (mean ± S.E.) of uterine cross sections from the indicated animal treatment groups (see Materials and Methods for detailed descriptions of each group). For all six groups, the differences in mean areas between control (C) and neonatally DES-exposed (D) animals were significant (p <0.05). The number of observations in each treatment group were:
