Imatinib and sorafenib suppress PDGF-mediated astrocyte proliferation. Astrocytes of the C6 cell line were stimulated with 10 ng/ml of PDGFbb in the presence of increasing concentrations of (a) imatinib or (b) sorafenib. LPS (100 ng/ml) was used as a positive control. Primary cortical rat astrocytes were stimulated with 10 ng/ml PDGFbb in the presence of (c) imatinib or (d) sorafenib.
