The table showed the correlation between serum carnitine (free and total) and C-ACT and some pulmonary function parameters in asthmatic children at the beginning of the study. C-ACT and FEV₁ (% of predicted) had significant positive correlations with total and free serum carnitine. However, there were no significant correlations between FEV₁/FVC and the levels of total and free serum carnitine.
