This figure illustrates one of the disadvantages of the 7D flow technique: if the trans-stenotic pressure gradient (TSPG) exceeds > 60 mmHg, as is the case in severe, high-grade stenoses, there is often no signal distal to the severe stenosis detected, rendering measurements of TSPG impossible.
