GTC intervention of carcinogen-induced gene expression. MCF10A cells were treated with combined NNK and B[a]P (NB) each at 100 pmol/L in the presence of 40 μg/mL of GTC for 24 h. Total RNAs were isolated and analyzed by reverse transcription PCR with specific primers to determine relative gene expression levels of COX17, S100P, ATM, and TNFRS8, with β-Actin as a control. Total gene expression levels of COX17, S100P, ATM, TNFRS8, and β-Actin were quantified by densitometry. Relative gene expression levels were calculated by normalizing the levels of COX17, S100P, ATM, and TNFRS8 gene expression with β-Actin level and the level set in untreated cells (lane1) as 1 (X, arbitrary unit). All results are representative of three independent experiments.
