MLL1 is a hypoxia-responsive gene in non-stem glioblastoma cells. In all, 4121 or 387 non-stem tumor cells were cultured with 1% oxygen for 4 days or treated with 200 μM DFX for 24 h as indicated. To confirm these data, a freshly isolated human specimen, CW619, was treated with 200 μM DFX for 24 h. Following hypoxic treatment, total RNA was harvested, cDNA generated by reverse transcription, and mRNA evaluated for (a–c) MLL1, (d–f) HIF2A, and (g–i) VEGF. HIF2A and VEGF levels were used as internal hypoxic controls. *P<0.001; **P<0.05
