At 5–6 months of age, the concentration of deoxy-Hb significantly increased during the same-face condition under the different viewpoint presentation only in the left temporal area. Furthermore, the decrease in oxy-Hb concentration was significant in the right temporal area while infants looked at the different-face condition. At 7–8 months, in the different-face condition (white bar), the concentration of oxy-Hb and total-Hb in both the right and left temporal areas increased significantly compared to the chance level of 0 (^**p < 0.01, *p < 0.05).
