The binding of ³⁵S-labeled heptasaccharides to FGF-2. FGF-2 (1 μg) was incubated with 5000 cpm of ³⁵S-labeled oligosaccharides in the PBS buffer. The mixture was spotted onto a nitrocellulose membrane. The membrane was then washed with a PBS buffer containing 300 mM NaCl. The spotted membrane was then mixed with scintillation fluid to measure the amount ³⁵S-counts in order to determine the percentage of ³⁵S-labeled oligosaccharides bound to FGF-2. The data presented represent the average of two experiments. Error bars indicate the range.
