Social behaviors of MAO-ANeo male mice. (a–c) In the social interaction test, both MAO-ANeo and MAO-A KO mice showed a significant reduction in (a) the duration and (b) the number of social approaches as compared with their WT counterparts; however, no differences were detected in the (c) latency to the first social approach. (d–f) In the resident–intruder paradigm, male MAO-ANeo and WT mice showed a marked reduction in (d) fighting duration and (e) frequency compared with MAO-A KO mice; similarly, WT and MAO-ANeo mice showed (f) a significantly longer latency to attack foreign WT intruders in comparison with MAO-A KO conspecifics.
