The optical fiber is coupled to the spectrometer via SMA connectors, and the optical path is defined by a set of elliptical (EM) and flat mirrors (FM). The input and output arms of the fiber are one meter long each with a diameter of 900 μm, and the distal end terminates into a handpiece that has a diameter of 10 mm and attaches to a replaceable 6.4 mm loop tip. The photo shows the handpiece next to a quarter for size comparison.
