Quantification of intracellular nucleocapsids and enveloped virions in LPDS-treated cells. HepG2 2.2.15 cells were grown in complete medium supplemented with 10% FBS or LPDS for the times indicated. Cell lysate levels were normalized to the total protein content, and equal volumes were subjected to immunoprecipitation with either anticapsid (A) or anti-pre-S1 (B) Abs. Viral DNA was purified from eluted particles and quantified by real-time PCR. A second immunoprecipitation performed in all samples, using the same Abs, recovered only background amounts of viral DNA. Data represent the means and SDs of duplicates from two independent experiments and are shown as percentages of the values for untreated samples.
