Fraction of Tau bound to microtubules under various stabilizing conditions. Microtubules were formed and stabilized with either paclitaxel (Taxol), GMPCPP, paclitaxel (Taxol) + GMPCPP, or glycerol/DMSO. Alexa Fluor 488-labeled 3RS- or 4RL-Tau was added at a 1:5 Tau/tubulin ratio, the microtubule-Tau complexes were centrifuged, and the resulting pellet and supernatant fractions were assessed for labeled Tau content.
