Ethanol decreased adiponectin secretion from 3T3-L1 adipocytes overexpressing CYP2E1. 3T3-L1 adipocytes were transiently transfected with sense-or anti-sense cyp2e1. After 24 h, cells were then cultured with or without 100 mM ethanol for a further 24 h. (A) Intracellular and (B) extracellular adiponectin in 3T3-L1 cells were measured by ELISA.
