Represented are in silico expression profiles for the nuclear protein REV-ERB_N and ROR_N, and for Bmal RNA. The nuclear proteins ROR_N (red) and REV-ERB_N (blue) recognize and compete for the cis-regulatory elements in the Bmal (green) promoter region to act, respectively, as positive and negative drivers of Bmal expression.
