Host responses to CUPE and PLLA (control) implanted subcutaneously in Sprague-Dawley rats. Histology analysis (H&E staining) for the long-term (8 weeks and 24 weeks) implantation demonstrated that CUPE was degradable in vivo and did not elicit significant chronic inflammation.
