Overview of constructive induction process whereby mapping between database elements and corresponding ontology concepts are used to induce new ‘facts’ concerning the contents of the database. In this case, Concept 2, which is included in the ontology but does not map to the database construct, is used as an intermediate concept to define a concept triplet or higher-order construct involving multiple intermediate entities that begins and terminates with data elements that map to concepts in the ontology construct.
