Methodology to integrate genome-wide data on transcriptional and translational regulation. (A) We combined transcriptome and translatome expression data to infer coexpression clusters and regulatory module networks. (B) We integrated known networks of transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulatory interactions and searched for overrepresented network motifs. (C) By mapping network motifs to distinct classes of expression clusters, we found that motifs explain translational coexpression in the absence of transcriptional coexpression and thus characterized the large-scale structural and functional properties of RNA regulons.
