(A) Farnesol dose-dependent increase in GPX activity in CA following 3 h and 18 h exposure to farnesol. Similar increase in cdr1 at 18 h with no change at 3 h (B) Increase in GLR activity in CA and cdr1 at 18 h with cdr1 exhibiting less activity than CA. In contrast, no effect on GLR activity was noted in both strains following 3 h exposure to farnesol. However, activity of both enzymes was restored to near baseline levels in the presence of exogenous glutathione. In all experiments, GSH supplementation maintained enzyme activity at normal baseline levels. Error bars indicate the standard errors of the means. p<0.05.
