Met and EGFR are excluded from the plasma membrane enriched by lipid rafts upon cell adhesion. A431 cells were replated on glass coverslips coated with 100 μg/ml poly-L-lysine for 30 min and stained for lipid rafts with Alexa 488-conjugated cholera toxin B subunit. The cells were stained for Met (a) or EGFR (b) with a monoclonal antibody which specifically recognizes the extracellular domain of the receptors and visualized by confocal microscopy.
