The group carried out three experiments using these animals, #1 with cells isolated from normal livers and #s 2 and 3 with cells and tissues, respectively, from fibrotic livers. The predicted findings in the absence or presence of EMT are shown; the actual findings of Taura et al. are indicated in red, illustrating that there was no EMT observed in the fibrosis model.
