Suite of alternative allometric hypotheses contrasting hypothetical species pairs. During post-embryonic allometry, species share similar embryonic trajectories, but diverge in relative size after hatching. Continuous allometry refers to a pattern in which species appear similar following morphogenesis, but subsequently diverge. A transposition of the allometric regressions reflects that a change has occurred prior to the earliest developmental stages measured.
