A degradome cDNA library was constructed from N-deficient roots and subjected to Illumina sequencing. The abundance of each signature was plotted as a function of its position in the transcript (A). The cleavage sites were further confirmed for two selected targets by 5′ RACE (B). The number above the vertical arrows indicate the data from 5′ RACE confirmation.
