Capsaicin-induced hypothermia is enhanced by the coadministration of MRS1477. Intraperitoneal injection of 5 μg of capsaicin provoked a significant drop in CBT. Hypothermia started to develop 10 min after the injection, peaked within the following 10 min, and then returned to control values during the subsequent 15-min period (Capsaicin). Coadministration of MRS1477 significantly extends the duration of the hypothermia with no change in amplitude of the drop in CBT (Capsaicin + MRS1477). Mice receiving vehicle only did not show significant changes in their CBT (Vehicle). CBT values were recorded every 5 min, starting 20 min before the injection of drugs, for 120 min total.
