LOH events primarily arise through large-scale recombination or deletion events. Percent of LOH events that arose attributable to the indicated classes of events is shown for two WT strains (BY, BY4741/BY4742 background; GRF, GRF167 ADE2 background) and for three mutants with reduced Ty1 retrotransposition (hsx1, loc1, dfg10). The three bars for each genotype show the results for LOH events that occurred in populations as viability decreased from 80% to 100%, to 40–80%, and then to less than 15%.
