The matrix mineralization of all osteogenic (OS)-treated co-cultures during osteogenesis was estimated by alizarin red S staining at week 4. Calcium deposition accumulated over time, reaching its highest level at the end of the culture period. Both BS- and OS-treated M5 groups exhibited the highest levels of matrix mineralization.
